Two important rule changes:
1) In the previous rounds I've had huge problems with people disappearing after they asked me for a week's extension. In order to avoid that, first-time participants asking for an extension will have to show me what they've written so far so I can be sure they're actually working on it, not stringing me along only to disappear in the end (and I will expect you to have written more than one paragraph on the day of the deadline). I'm sorry I have to do this, I really wish it wasn't necessary, but I'm afraid it is. You can thank the people who disappeared over a week after the deadline in previous rounds.
2) If you're okay with receiving both fic and art, please make sure to write prompts that also work for art. It's very difficult for artists if they receive fic prompts and only an added "I like art, too." Either phrase your prompts in a way that they can be used for both fic and art, or (new rule) you can write separate prompts. So if you're okay with both, you are allowed (and even supposed) to write 3-5 fic prompts AND 3-5 art prompts.

If you have any particular book vs. show preferences, especially when it comes to characters who are very different on the show, please mention it.

If your sign-up form includes spoilers (prompts like "what happened after character X did this or that in ADWD?"), please warn for it so the other participants don't get spoiled accidentally while reading through the sign-ups.

Please try to have a little bit of variety in your prompts. It's perfectly okay to want fic about a certain character or group of characters, but if all your prompts are smut for the exact same pairing or if they're all crazy AUs or crackships or something like that, it may get really hard for your writer. Try not to constrict your gifter too much, please.  (E.g. it's perfectly fine if you absolutely want fic about Catelyn, but try not to have five Ned/Catelyn smut prompts. Have some Ned/Catelyn prompts, and maybe a Catelyn gen prompt, or a prompt about Catelyn interacting with someone else etc.) Don't worry, most of you already don't do that anyway; only two people last time had exclusively prompts for one pairing and the writers weren't too happy about that.

You can ask for other things than fanart or fanfic (like graphics, icons, videos, whatever), but I can't promise that someone will participate who can make them, so you should be okay with drawn art or fic. Similarily, if you can make graphics etc., you can tell me as well, but you should be able to produce either drawn art or fic because I can't be sure that someone will specifically ask for graphics etc.

If you don't want to post your e-mail address here, just fill out the rest of the form and send me a PM with your address.

Send your finished fic/art to gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com by September 16th. If you need an extension or if you have to drop out, please contact me as soon as possible. Don't just disappear.

Please only send me fics as text files (.txt), or if that's not possible as .doc, .docx or .odt. Please include html tags for italics etc. in your file and check if your formatting works properly. Also, please use a beta reader, or at least proofread your fic thoroughly. I have neither the time nor the patience to proofread every single fic before posting it. If you don't know anyone who could beta for you, please contact one of the people who signed up on this beta reader post. Don't be shy. They signed up because they want to help. :)

Have you read (all) the books? Have you seen the show? I've read the first two books but have been quite heavily spoilered for many things that happen afterward (though I have managed to mostly avoid spoilers for the most recent book!). I am an avid show watcher and am more interested in the characters as presented in the show, with some book details to round things out, rather than the other way round if that makes sense.

Fic and/or fanart? I can write fic :)

Preferred characters and/or pairings: The Starks are my favourites (hm, maybe not Rickon asides as a very minor character). Preferred pairings to write: Jon/Robb, Catelyn/Ned, I have a sudden interest in Robb/Margaery. Will write Sam/Jon as friendship with a touch of romance! I'd be interested in writing stuff set during Robert's Rebellion - perhaps Robert/Ned and Robert/Lyanna.Tyrells & Renly. On the basis of season 2, I'd enjoy exploring Cersei and Sansa's relationship more... I'm happy to give a lot of things (with the caveats below). Maybe some Baratheon brotherly awkward stuff.

Characters and/or pairings you will NOT draw/write about: Not interested in writing about the Targaryens, or dragons in general, or anything going on over the Narrow Sea. I love Jaime but am not convinced I can write him, ditto Tyrion. Can't write anything that relies on book canon beyond Clash of Kings.

What genre of fic/art do you generally want? (Gen, slash, het, angst, fluff, romance, smut etc.) Not really into fluff, but I enjoy angst, smut, bittersweet stuff... Gen is totally fine - I enjoy indepth character stuff so romance isn't necessary, though there are plenty of het and slash pairings I like. Light, funny fic is great too (though not something GoT always lends itself to...!).

Give at least three and up to five prompts you would like to see written/drawn:

These are all influenced by the show more than the books... And they're ideas I'm happy for you to mangle as much as you like. Just use them as starting inspiration!

1. After Renly dies, Margaery convinces Loras to take his forces to the King in the North, and she and Robb are betrothed in a useful political match. (Can result in romance/sexy times if you want, though I'm mostly interested in everyone's ~complex feelings~!)
2. Robb/Jon - after a long winter, the war is won and Robb sits on the Iron Throne. Events contrive to bring Jon from the Wall. Cue sexual tension and varying levels of anguish about duty, honour etc from both parties.
3. When Lyanna dies, she tells Ned a secret: she knows that the reason Robert is so obsessed with her is that really he's in love with the unobtainable: Ned...
4. Arya asks Jaqen to kill Tywin. Political aftermath (presumably, for instance, Stannis would win the Battle of Blackwater), but also some personal feeling from Arya, ideally - satisfaction but also maybe some guilt after the strange friendship she and Tywin managed to develop.
5. Catelyn is pregnant with Robb on the day of her marriage to Ned... Robb is Brandon's son. She can't let herself fall in love with Ned until after he brings home Jon, proving he's not perfect.

Your pet peeves and other things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art: No noncon! If you're writing Robb/Jon I prefer the incest element to be dealt with, not ignored, though I don't like incest in itself presented as "sexy". I like smut but I prefer it to come with lots of character context and ideally some plot.

1. Stannis/Davos - Stannis gives Davos his cloak for some reason (idk, it's winter and he's cold, or what you can come up with), without realizing what he actually is doing (but Davos does). Preferably Davos's POV with much UST.
2. Stannis/Davos - first/last kiss - they finally kiss when one of them is dying. Please with a lot of snow and drama and heroism.
3. Euron/Victarion - hate/love, Euron seduces Vic with his creepy magic stuff and Vic is horrified when he realizes what he has done. But can he wash off the shame with blood?
4. Victarion, solitude - Victarion has won everything, he got the dragons, the throne and his revenge, but soon he sees how empty his victory is, his wife and his dead brothers always haunting him, and believing in the curse (especially as Aeron sees him as an abomination after his healing by fire) he begins to lose it. Make it as gothic and tragic as you want. Death is preferred.
5. Theon, redemption - he finally finds his true identity as a Stark and does something heroic to save them, but he's fatally wounded. Bonus if he has a vision of Robb forgiving him as he's dying.

Writing: I can write angst and quiet tragedies like a champ, but character pieces are generally my best works. I can do fluff if I'm in the right mood. I love almost all AUs. I'm rubbish at comedy and crack. I prefer not to write PWP, though I have done it.
Drawing: I'm always willing to experiment, but I have most experience with portraits / character studies. I'm not comfortable drawing crowd scenes at this point.

That sort of thing is perfectly fine! I just don't want something that centers on them). Also no Sansa/[Sandor, Petyr, Jaime, Gendry, Stannis, or Margaery], please.

I prefer no PWP. I know where to find plenty of that if I want to read it. Otherwise, pretty much anything. I like gen, I like romance, I like a combination of the two. I like angst and fluff in moderation – just be somewhat realistic, if you can. =)

- Gendry makes Arya a sword, and Arya makes Sansa an army.
- The days following the events at the Wall in Jon's last ADWD chapter, working under the assumption that Jon is Azor Ahai. Jon might not be dead for good, but the characters around him don't know that. I'd love to see reactions from Pyp, Grenn, Satin, etc., as well as Melisandre's realization that she was wrong and that she holds the power of life in a way she never dared hope.
- AU: Arya (not Jon) is Eddard's child with Ashara Dayne, and she grows up in Dorne in the company of Oberyn Martell's daughters. Extra points for badassery and oranges and shenanigans and intrigue and a Gendry somewhere. A trip to Winterfell to meet her other family and confront her father might be interesting, but is totally optional.
- Outlaws, be it the Kingswood Brotherhood or the BWB, and their internal machinations/raison d'être. Exploration of underlying class, legal, and economic issues and/or continuing Martin's trend of deconstructing traditional literary/folk tropes would be fantastic.
- Some years in the future, Arya visits Bear Island as part of her ongoing tour of the North at the behest of the current Stark in Winterfell (Sansa/Bran/Rickon as Lord/Lady or King/Queen in the North, up to you). Any Stark is always welcome at Bear Island, and when Lyanna Mormont sees to it that Arya is received appropriately, she finds that they have a good deal in common. Friendship, UST, or femmeslash is all a-okay.

Let me add, if I may, that these are not set in stone, and if none of them really grab you, then practically any combination of things from my characters/pairings list would make me happy! I have a ton of Arya feelings, and my prompts always reflect that, but that's just because I get ideas about her most easily, not because I don't love the others.

Your pet peeves and other things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art:
- No non-con, not even any ambiguity of sexual consent, please.
- I really dislike first person POV.
- I don't want Arya to stay in Braavos.
- No PWP please – sex is fine, so long as it is a complement to the story, not a story into itself.
- I generally don't want any major characters to die, unless it's old age or the like. Please? Martin's broken my heart plenty of times already. =( I really don't want to hinder the creative process, but I'm not going to be happy with a death fic. Maybe some other time, but not where I am right now.

Fear is for the winter… (I’m fascinated by the coming winter and I’d love to see Brienne, who once proclaimed that “summer will never come for the likes of us,” dealing with the reality of a winter like the one Old Nan described. Take her beyond The Wall, have her encounter Others, or hole up somewhere with Jaime—or Ser Hyle, Pod, whoever. Or it could be entirely psychological focusing on the realities of knighthood/questing, whatever you like...)

2. Arya returns to Westeros. (Have her reunite with Gendry, Sansa, or Jon, or maybe she comes back disguised as one of Varys’s little birds…I don’t care, I just can’t wait to see her return to the action.)

3. AU. Jon never joins the Night’s Watch. (Take that wherever you like. Does he fight by Robb’s side? Head to King’s Landing to bring back his sisters? Fall for someone unexpected--Osha, perhaps? Or Margeary? Retake Winterfell from Theon? Still meet up with Sam somehow?)

I tend to have the easiest time writing for Lannisters (including both kids (Myrcella, Tommen) and the older generation (Tywin/Kevan/Genna)), Martells, Brienne, Davos, Stannis, Sansa, Margaery. But I can and will write for any characters, TV or book canon.

Theon (and Jeyne and/or Asha) post-ADWD. Character study-ish type of story. It can focus on the Iron Islands and a future kingsmoot, or a battle at the Wall against the Others (I approve of Theon Takes the Black stories muchly), or the probable near-future battle to retake Winterfell. I am very curious to see where Theon's character arc goes, and how he goes on - *if* he goes on. Character death is okay, but so is heroism and hope.

Willas/Sansa AU. The Tyrells succeed in spiriting Sansa away to Highgarden. Can Willas be the sort of man Sansa could love? I'd like to see an exploration of their relationship and Sansa's (mixed?) feelings about this kind of "rescue".

Jaime/Brienne or Jaime & Brienne. After Dany and/or Aegon conquers the Seven Kingdoms, Jaime Lannister is exiled. He and Brienne communicate via letters over many years. Shippy or gen is fine. A reunion in the far future? Your call.

Sansa as Queen in the North (in her own right, or helping Rickon rule) being pushed to marry but not really wanting to. Can any man win her over? Possibilities - Aegon? Trystane? Willas? Tyrion? Feel free to make someone a widower and put him in the mix, IDK - anyone except for the characters I mentioned above in my "no" list. Or maybe she just tells her suitors to go pound sand. Bonus points for Brienne and/or Sandor as Sansa's protector/Queensguard or Sansa/Daenerys friendship.

1) Cat & Lysa – Something examining their relationship, specifically Lysa’s feelings on Cat, and the jealousy surrounding all the things that Catelyn had that Lysa didn’t and wanted – Petyr’s love, a happy marriage, healthy children. Something pre-series or dealing with their meeting at the Eyrie would be great.

2) Ned/Catelyn – Early days in Winterfell, how these two ended up falling in love. Something not too angsty or at least a happy conclusion to the angst. XD

3) Queen-Cersei-AU. In either one of two directions: Cersei is Rhaegar’s queen, or Robert doesn’t whisper ‘Lyanna’ on their wedding night. How either of those things changes the canon.

4) Ned & the Boltons – In the novels it’s said that Ned never trusted Roose Bolton – why? I’d love to see Ned trying to deal with Bolton creepiness. It can be serious and dark or totally cracky (Ned’s Stay at the Dreadfort Which is Basically a Haunted House).

5) Margaery & her three kings – How did Margaery feel, marrying three kings? How much in the know is she (did she know of the plan to kill Joffrey?), how much of a player?

ART:
1. Brandon/Lyanna (or Brandon & Lyanna) – Anything with these two being the ‘wild Starks’. Can be as shippy as you want or general siblingness if that’s more your comfort level. I’d prefer something outside – wildness, dirtiness, sword-fighting, torn clothing, rough-housing, the hot springs…anything along those lines. Just definitely outside and wildness.

2. Jaime & Cersei – These two cross-dressing/trying on each other’s clothes, but preferably at a point where they…kinda are pushing getting away with it. Basically I want Jaime in a gown when he really obviously should not be wearing a gown. XD And Cersei in breeches would be AWESOME.

3. Ned/Catelyn – Anything shippy, really. They’re so physically-touchy with one another in the books that I’d like some kind of physical contact in the picture, even if it’s something simple.

4. Tullys – Either Cat and one (or both!) of her siblings, or Cat and the Blackfish. Petyr can be there but there should be at least two Tullys to balance him out. XD

2. Jon never goes to the wall or he runs away from the wall once he hears of Eddard's death, write about the life he and Robb share in this AU.

3. Arya/Gendry AU: Arya and Gendry meet when she is older. She is still the daughter of a rich family and he is still a poor bastard, how do they find their place with each other?

4. Sandor/Sansa: Sansa agrees to go with the Hound when she finds him in her room during the battle.

As far as pairings go I am happy to see het and slash (m/m and f/f) but don't want anything explicit. I love future-fic, and stories which move us past ADWD canon.

1. Brienne/anyone and Brienne/Jaime. I'd like to see a Brienne futurefic, where she has to go on with her life after Jaime dies, and she goes back to Tarth and marries and has a family and is more or less happy -- some kind of contrast between the Great Romantic Love and the regular everyday love we live with.

2. Arya gen. I'd love to see her reunion with Nymeria. If there's some revenge involved, that would be great. (I keep thinking here, our mother has been absent ever since we founded Rome, but there's gonna be a party when the wolf comes home, so if Lady Stoneheart was there, that would be great too.)

3. Bran future-fic. Bran returns to Winterfell and becomes the second Bran the Builder. He loses some of his power and has to deal with life as a crippled young man. Maybe Bran/Meera, or Bran/Jon, although gen also fine.

4. Aegon! I just want more about him! How does his arrival change things in Westeros? Is he really a Targaryen? I would be totally happy to see gen, or Aegon/Sansa, or Aegon/Mycella, or (go with it, I know this is kind of cracky) Aegon/Sam.

5. Daenerys/power. I really like the way Daenerys is learning how to rule (slowly, and with mistakes), and would love to see more of that, or to see it pay off in the future. Because she can conquer Westeros with dragons, but she can't hold it that way. (if you want a pairing here, maybe Arya/Daenerys or Daenerys/Jon?)

In general, I would be happy to see anything which moved the characters we have onward from where canon left them.

2. Balon's Rebellion: the aftermath. Balon dealing with the fallout, relationships, frustrations, and conflicts with his brothers (Balon/Victarion would be very welcome), or interactions with Alannys and Asha. I would prefer that it center on the Pyke characters and not on Theon/his wardship with the Starks (but I'm fine with a guest appearance if the story goes that way).

3. Jaqen H'gar's past. What did a man do to end up in a prison wagon in Westeros? Or what does a man do after he changes his face and leaves the narrative? Some ideas: pastfic about how he became a Faceless Man, adventures at the Citadel, sexy times in the Free Cities, interactions with Arya and her "pack" at Harrenhall.

4. Euron Greyjoy. What did Euron find when he visited Valyria, or other parts east? What's the story with the eyepatch? Go as creepy as you like. The creepier the better, in fact.

2. Jon/Val: Jon accepts Stannis' offer to claim Winterfell and wed Val, but Val refuses to acknowledge that he is her husband and does everything she can to challenge him (attempts to steal stable boys, belittles him and his Southen customs at every turn, etc)...

3. Robb/Roslin: she's prettier than he dared to hope...

4. Jon/Margaery: When Jon Snow is legitimized as Jon Targaryen and made heir to the throne, Margaery's desire to be the queen seems far more attainable than it did a mere fortnight ago...

5. Lysa/Petyr (unrequited!Petyr/Catelyn): they wed once he finds out she's carrying his child (As opposed to Lysa being coerced into aborting the child pre-series and marrying Jon Arryn)...

1. I'd love to see some sort of graphic novel-esque interpretation of key scene or relationships

01. SANSA/ASHA. My kingdom for Sansa/Asha. As Queen in the North and Queen of the Iron Islands, preferably, but I would be OVERJOYED by anything for these two. It doesn't even have to be shippy. Friendship or even antagonism is fine, as long as they interact.

02. Anything to do with the gods. Seriously, the mythology of the ASOIAF-verse is fascinating to me. Preferably the Seven, the Old Gods, or the Many-Faced God (I feel like we get enough R'hllor in canon, and I've seen a lot of Drowned God centered fic, honestly). Could be about a character who's storyline is heavily involved with the gods (Cersei's tumultuous relationship with the Seven, Bran and the Old Gods, Arya in the House of Black and White, etc.), or characters who've never really had anything to do with the gods, but you think would be interesting if they did. Or something about their effect on society (the corruption of the High Septons, how Baelor the Blessed was actually kind an obnoxious asshat, how having all those temples and churches and such affects Braavos and its people, etc.). OR just something about the Gods themselves. Make up a passage from The Seven Pointed Star, or a folktale about the Old Gods. Seriously, anything ASOAIF-mythology centered and I will have your children.

03. The Lannister siblings. And I mean all three of them. Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion. Growing up together, with Jaime/Cersei and teen-angst!Tyrion, and much mutual loathing between Cersei and Tyrion, and Jaime just wanting everybody to be friends. Come on, they had to have been happy at some point, if only slightly.

04. Theon and Jeyne P., after the war (assuming they both survive), trying to make a life together. PTSD and awkwardness and both of them being kind of terrified of sex and/or physical closeness. As a pairing, or just platonic, I don't care. Bonus for Asha dropping in constantly to make sure they haven't both committed suicide yet.

05. Prompt: this is probably the end. Use any of my preferred characters/pairings here (because I just realized all my other prompts are obnoxiously specific.)

3. Noir AU: Detective Stannis investigates the death of his brother with the help of ex-con Davos and the mysterious psychic Melisandre.

4. At a feast Stannis asks Cersei for a dance, hoping to shame his brother into taking his husbandly duties more seriously. Instead he finds himself saddled with what one might call a “friend”.

5. Wildlings raid Winterfell and manage to run off with little!Theon, who fits in much better with their culture.

3. Daenerys & Aegon - The two "Targaryens" meet. I'd love Aegon not being who he says he is, even if he's ignorant of that fact, and Dany connecting him to the mummer's dragon part of the prophecy.

4. Sansa & Shae - Using show canon for this one, exploration of that strangely endearing friendship they developed during S2. Friendship or femslash equally welcome.

5. Theon & Asha - Asha trying to help him after ADWD, and being well-meaning but slightly rubbish. I don't suppose the Ironborn are really familiar with emotional support.

1. Arya/Jaqen adventures. Maybe a crazy Discworld crossover with her working for the Assassin’s guild in Ankh Morpork and Jaqen as a member of the Alchemist’s. But I’d be happy wherever you went with these characters.

2. What happens to the Damphair after AFFC, does Euron have anything to do with his disappearance, or is he really out there gathering support to overthrow the Crow’s Eye? If an epic meltdown about the Drowned God abandoning him could be worked in, that would be brilliant.

3. Anything Dornish women, cousin shipping or gen. Could be super explicit like Arianne domming the fuck out of someone with Tyene watching or a G-rated piece about Sarella’s studies, Obara’s badassery.

4. Brandon, Lyanna, Benjen. I’d like to see the less well-known wolves enjoying the tournament at Harrenhal, then possibly falling out afterwards, especially Benjen’s response to Rhaegar favouring Lyanna.

5. Melisandre, I’m a knight myself of sorts. What was her life like in Asshai- possible interactions with Val at the Wall- trying to persuade Stannis to let her burn Theon for his king’s blood. I like Melisandre/Stannis as a pairing.

I can deal with almost anything, as long as it doesn't require characters being too OOC. For example, while I can see Davos and Stannis having the whole warriors romance thing, I can't see Davos becoming a cuddly housewife. And vice versa. Or cutesy fluffy SanSan. You get the point.

Jaime/Dany: Tyrion and her council somehow convinces Dany to not only pardon Jaime but that marrying him would make stategic sense. How does their relationship unfold?

Jaime/Brienne & Arya: What if while looking for Sansa Jaime and Brienne encounter Arya instead? I like the idea of these 3 on the road together. How does Arya respond to the Kingslayer and the Warrior Woman that is Brienne? What are her thoughts on the closeness of Jaime & Brienne?
