Guys, I'm ridiculously excited. It's going to be like ten million times more fun than secret santa. I'm also incredibly nervous about approaching this whole process, so here are my random newbie questions...

- how do you pick which prompt you're going to write?
- do you look at your giftee's own fic and comments for inspiration?
- are you ever tempted to fill more than one of your giftee's prompts (I love writing shorter pieces, so I could conceivably see myself doing one longer fic and then a few drabbles to fill some of the giftee's other prompts that I like - acceptable or am I being too much of a keener?)

Any other tips?!

Just my own personal two cents (take it for what it's worth - not that much XD)

-Usually one or two prompts jumps out at me right away. I pick whichever one makes me feel the most inspired, which I think will produce the best story.
-Sometimes - if I'm stuck between two prompts, I'll look at their fic/what they comment on to see if they seem to prefer a particular character/pairing/genre. But usually not, and I just try and stay true to one of their requested prompts.
-I'm sure if you wanted to fill more than one of the giftee's prompts, they would be ECSTATIC. XD Someone did that on the [livejournal.com profile] asoiaf_exchange last round.

I'm ridiculously happy you're on this boat mate ^^!

Ah for the prompts. I usually, well at least so far, was always lucky (that or maybe Linn has a thing or two to do with picking very well ^^) so I always stumbled on at least three prompts I wasn't minding to answer each time.

I never even thought about it to be honest.

I think I tried for the first exchange? where I tried to do some Robert/Eddard bro ship and I just wrote some half of it and then let the all idea. One prompt takes me a lot of time and then I need beta so it takes even more time because beta's are rare (and shiny).

Hey if you can, it's lovely :).

-Usually there has been one that just stuck out. The first time though, I wanted to write about three of them, started one and got stuck, and ended up writing another.

-Sometimes, yes.

-Yes, but I haven't had time.
