If you're okay with receiving both fic and art, please make sure to write prompts that work for both. Either phrase your prompts in a way so they can be used for both fic and art, or write separate prompts (i.e. 4-6 fic prompts AND 4-6 art prompts). That's far easier for artists than getting fic prompts and only an added "I like art, too."
If your sign-up includes spoilers (prompts like "what happened after character X did this or that in ADWD?"), please warn for them so other participants don't get spoiled accidentally while reading through the sign-ups.
Please remember that someone has to write/draw one of your prompts. Don't make their life unnecessarily difficult. Prompts should be starting points, not extremely detailed fic outlines. Try to have a bit of variety in your prompts rather than six prompts for the same pairing, especially if it's a rare pair. One or two crossover prompts are fine, but not six of them. Rare pairs are of course very welcome, but if you request only pairings that literally no other participant offered to write, I will have trouble assigning you. I reserve the right to ask you to add more offers or to edit your requests if there is no one who can write for you/no one you can write for by the end of the signup period.

Send your finished fic/art to gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com by September 11th. If you need an extension or if you have to drop out, please contact me as soon as possible. Don't just disappear. I reply to every email I get on the exchange account. If I do not reply to your email after a day or two, please assume that I did not get your message and resend it.
Please only send me fics as text files (.txt), or if that's not possible as .doc, .docx or .odt. Please include html tags for italics etc. in your file and check if your formatting works properly. Either ask someone to beta read your fic for you or at least proofread your fic thoroughly. If you don't know anyone who could beta for you, you can contact one of the people who signed up on this beta reader post.

I’ve read the five novels and the short stories. I haven’t read the WoW sample chapters or spoilers. I’m up to date with the show. My first love is the bookverse, but for fic I’m fine with either.
What kind of gift can you make? Fic and/or fanart?
Fic only, I’m afraid.
Preferred characters and/or pairings:
Starks, Targaryens, Lannisters, any female characters, characters involved in Robert’s Rebellion, characters generally considered to be ‘nice’. I don’t have any particular ships for this fandom and am open to giving most things a try, with the caveat that I make no promises to give a happy portrayal of any given pairing!

I’d struggle with Greyjoys & Boltons, non-canonical incest
What kind of genres can you write/what kind of pictures can you draw?
Character-based fic. I prefer gen, m/f and f/f to m/m, though I will do my best with m/m too. I’d prefer not to write a modern AU, though otherwise open as to genre. I love the world-building in ASOIAF, so enjoy looking at the history, culture and customs of different parts of Westeros.

Preferred characters and/or pairings:
Characters with at least one positive canonical trait! And a few flaws too. Examples include Catelyn, Daenerys, Arya, Sansa, Brienne, Shireen, Jon, Sam, Jaime, Tyrion, Myrcella, Margaery, Syrio, Doran, earlier generations of the families we know, etc. But it doesn’t have to feature any of the above. Open to any pairing if you can make it believable for the characters.
Characters and/or pairings you do NOT want to see/read about:
Greyjoys (except Asha), Boltons,
the Mountain. That’s not to say they can’t appear in the story, but I wouldn’t want them to be the main focus.

Gen, angst, character studies, future or past fic, smut – whatever the writer is confident writing really.

1. Dornish law applies throughout Westeros. How are things different for the characters you choose to focus on? For example, Cat would grow up as heir to Riverrun instead of Edmure.
2. Margaery versus the Queen of Thorns – what happens when pupil and teacher want different things?
3. What makes Gilly smile? Other than Sam and the baby.
4. Tell us about a time your chosen character acts contrary to what he/she is known for. For example, a time Ned Stark forgot his honour. A debt one of the Lannisters doesn’t pay.
5. Dragons, always dragons. A story about how a character other than Dany relates to one of her dragons.

Non-canonical incest. Unremittingly nasty people being turned into woobies.
