I want to thank you for organizing another great round. All the work you do is amazing and much appreciated!

I voted for June/July because then all of my degree deadlines will be over and done with. Mwahaha. But I am sure I could be coerced into joining even if happenes earlier than that, if that's how the vote goes. ;D

Also, the comment fic meme is going to be such a ~~wonderful~~ terrible distraction.

So hoping the vote goes that way, just because waiting for three months or so would make me very, very sad. And because I am not reasonable. ;) I'd just bribe you into participating whenever. ;)

I'm already looking forward to the comment fic meme ... thinking of so, so many Stannis prompts.

I'll definitely participate whenever the next round ends up happening. The worst that could happen is that I might need an extension 'til the end of May. Looks like a pretty split vote at the moment though.

I just want to fill everything. It's a pity I'm so busy this week, if not, I might've ended up doing just that. ;D

For the moment a lot of people seem to be okay with either right away or April/May, so I guess that April/May would be feasible. And everyone who really has no time there will just have to sit this one out, I'm sure there would still be another exchange in summer. ^^

Haha, please do fill everything. And post prompts. I need some Stannis/Jon ideas. ;) And can I just say again that Stannis/Davos thing was gorgeous? New headcanon. I want t know EVERYTHING about that night.

Tempting! I've posted a couple of prompts but I have trouble coming up with them, for some reason - even though I have fic ideas all the time. So glad you enjoyed the Stannis/Davos. I love sharing all of my headcanon. <3

Exactly. That's why I prefer to do it earlier than later. Nothing keeps people from skipping one round if they don't have the time, but it seems silly to me to wait for months if a lot of people would like to do it earlier.

Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, I guess from sign-ups to everything getting posted it's probably about 3 months? So if we started soon, there could still be a forth round late in the summer, for those who weren't up for another round straihgt away.

I'm so glad I found out about this comm in time to participate in round two, I had a blast, and thought it was very well run.

If I had a suggestion, and it would just be a tiny one, could we maybe have a no character bashing rule in the sign up post next time? I know people were just shooting the breeze with their friends and we all have strong opinions on our favourite/least favourite characters. But I did think that seeing people talk about how much they disliked the characters/pairings that they didn't want to write or receive, rather than just listing them, could be kind of off-putting.

Yes, I know, there was some unpleasantness there and I wasn't entirely innocent myself. In hindsight it was all very stupid and careless, but I guess people just get carried away easily once they start talking and just forget that the conversation is not taking place on a private journal. I'm not sure we need an explicit rule for that, but I promise that if anything like that starts again next time I will not neglect my modly duties, but step in (instead of just babbling along myself). I'm still sorry that happened, and while I can't change anything about that now I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again. I'm sorry if that made you feel unwelcome or anything like that. It won't happen again.

The last comment fic meme was just the best thing ever. The Tormund crack, stannis/Robb crack, and a bunch of actually amazing fics. I hope it'll be just as great this time.

We'll have to see if enough people want to do it in April/May. And if yes, nothing would keep us from doing another one over the summer months, and people who don't have time in spring can just skip one round. But whatever, it's too early to tell, I'm just happy that some people are all "LET'S DO THIS AGAIN ASAP". ;)

Can't think of any real feedback: this exchange always runs so smoothly despite the disappearing participants, which is unfortunatel, but seemingly inevitable in exchanges. I'm all for another round (and the upcoming asoiaf_exchange too) asap.

I wouldn't even mind that much if people dropped out if they just TOLD me, rather than string me along and make me wait because I keep hoping that they'll reply to my mails etc. I don't think I'm that scary a mod that people should think they can't talk to me if there's a problem.

You're totally not a scary mod - the only scary mod I ever experienced on LJ was, in all places, a fashion community. I think that people feel ashamed that they can't finish a commitment, but ignoring it only makes things worse and potentially screws over the giftee. I don't understand people though.

Same here. My head is full of Stannis/Jon prompts that I'll end up writing if outboxed doesn't take them. ;)

I don't know, I try to keep my emails friendly when I ask disappearing people about their fic, telling them that it's okay if they need a bit more time, so they don't feel like I'm going to rip them to shreds for being a few days late. But it doesn't really seem to help. I understand feeling bad about not finishing one's assignment, but they should feel so, so much worse for just disappearing and leaving me barely enough time to organise a pinch hit (whom I then have to harass about finishing in time).

I would really prefer not TOO soon... Term times are so hectic for me. And I imagine a lot of students will have finals! But any time over the summer would work.

The problem with terms and finals is that they seem to be at different times everywhere, and we seem to have participants from many different places. I sometimes get the impression that when half the people are on holidays, the other half is writing exams, and the other way around. But I guess the summer should be calmer for most people. :) We'll see what happens - and like last time, even if there is an earlier exchange, there may well be another one during the summer. :)

Despite the fact that I had a mini mental break down at the deadline day, I liked. It made me write a character that I like but never had the opportunity to write and that I learned that even if I like a character, i can't write them. And I look forward to the comment fic tomorrow. :)

You know, it would have been just fine if you had written me an email and handed your fic in a day or two later. ;) But I'm glad you enjoyed the exchange anyway.

But you see, I panicked. My brain decided to take a long holiday, since it helped me type 1.000 words in a hour and i was left at 4AM with nothing but my feelings to dictated the whole cock up operation. I think I even cried a little...Which is okay, I tend to overreact from time to time, But now I know, and even thought I'd love to tell you that I'll deliver the next one before the deadline, I know I won't. At least I don't drop out with a explanation, and that got to count me some positive points.

Don't worry, I'm not throwing any stones. I'm guilty of last-minute-writing myself. ;)

Yes I do! I've actually written a handful of fics lately, which has really helped me loosen up. I remember being somewhat terrified of my prompt last time, but I'm really excited to do try this again. :)

Okay, great. :) ASOIAF fandom is so spread out over different sites and communities, so I usually have no idea what other people are doing unless they're in the same corner of the fandom as me. ;)
I know, exchanges are always a bit terrifying like that because you keep wondering if you're going to get horrible prompts that you can't possibly work with. But I really do my best to give people prompts they will hopefully like, and if there's ever problem, I'm sure we can still find some sort of solution then. Glad you're going to give it another try. :)

I'm reading and commenting on every entry by order of post so I still didn't finished tbh but I have to say that the quality of all the work done blew me away truly this time. You've all done wonders! I've even liked A LOT some pairings or characters I usually don't really look out for :o.

And thanks Linn for your work and efficiency! I'm so used to it, I could practically gloss over and say it's normal lol ^^.

May/June is a good date. I have stuff in preparation for the Valyrian comm so it would be too much if too soon.

I'm so happy I got involved in this! I get a bit daunted by how big this fandom is and end up not joining in anywhere but I felt really comfortable here and you do a great job moderating! And thankyou for arranging my pinch hit for me, so awesommmme.
I don't have any suggestions really, anything that confused me was just to do with it being my first time doing an exchange ever and being a noob at everything.
I would participate any time, it's just I'm going away in April and I guess I could miss the sign up. Oh god don't know. I'll probably vote for April/May anyway 'cause of having new TV show based inspirations right around then but if it happened sooner/later that'd be cool too.

I'm glad you felt comfortable around here. :) I know this fandom can be a bit intimidating with its dozens of different comms and cliques and what else, and especially if you're not into the big pairings, it can be a bit of a lonely place. And I'm so glad you enjoyed your fic. The person originally writing for you just disappeared, I'm so sorry about that. :/ And my soul belongs to sternflammenden now for pinch hitting. ;) (Damn, the longer this exchange will run, the more I will owe to all my pinch hitters. ;))

Mhm, if it does happen in April, I'm sure there will be some sort of an info post next week or so to tell everybody about the results. Since the sign-up form wlil be pretty much the same as last time, you can just send it to me per mail whenever you want and not have to worry about the official sign-up?

Thank you so, so much for your kind words. :) This community is the first time I'm moderating anything at all, so I'm glad I'm doing an good job with this exchange.

We'll see how many more votes there will be, but right now April/May looks likely. But if someone really wants to participate, but the time is not ideal for them, we can always talk about extensions, depending on how many participants there are. Probably not until the end of June, but a bit longer than the normal deadline is usually no problem.

I really wanted to thank you for running this exchange, because you really were a fantastic mod. I'm so sorry two people dropped out without word :( I guess that's just the nature of exchanges? /o\

I'm undecided on whether or not I should participate in the next round, given all the trouble I had completing my fic, but I voted for June/July since I'd be freely available a good chunk of the time then. Of course, if it happens earlier, I could probably just skip that round and hope there's another one in the summer :) And I have no complaints about the exchange itself, just thank you for doing such a wonderful job :D

Thank you so much. I'm always glad when people enjoy participating. :) (It also happened last time, and it just makes me sad. I can understand people dropping out for one reason or another, but just disappearing and not even replying to my emails is so incredibly selfish and rude. Even when real life is busy, it doesn't kill people to take one minute to send an email.)

I know, spring seems to be a busy time for many people, but I'm afraid right now April/May still looks like the most likely option. But I'm fairly sure that there will be a summer exchange after that. :) It will more likely start in July than in June, I suppose, but it will definitely happen. I'd love to see you around again whenever you have the time to participate. :)
