Check-in post

The deadline is in about two weeks, on Sunday, March 16th. Please reply to this post to let me know whether you will be able to finish your fic/art in time or not. If you have to drop out, please tell me now so I can find a pinch-hitter. Don't wait until the deadline to drop out, and don't just disappear without a word. If you think you will need a small extension, please tell me as soon as possible, but I'd appreciate if everyone could at least try to meet the deadline. If you don't reply to this post in the next few days, you'll get an e-mail from me. Obviously you don't have to reply to this post if you've already sent me your fic.

A few things to remember when you send your fic/art to me:

1) Include a header in the following format:
Title:
Author/Artist:
For:
Pairings/Characters:
Rating:
Words:
Warnings: (don't forget to warn for spoilers)
Prompt:
(Summary, if the prompt was rather vague)

2) Fics should ideally be sent in as text files (.txt). doc, docx and odt are also fine.

3) Fic writers: please include html coding for italics etc. Make sure your formatting works and that there is a BLANK LINE between every two paragraphs, i.e. that you hit enter twice after every paragraph, not just once. You have to do this manually. It is not enough to tell Word to leave a bigger space between paragraphs because that will not show up when your fic is copied&pasted on LJ. I know that should be obvious, but there's always someone who forgets about it and it makes fics pretty hard on the eyes.

4) Your fic should be beta read or at least spell-checked very thoroughly. If you don't know anyone who can beta for you, please contact someone from this list.

Not quite finished, but close.
Just a thing: when I signed up I said I'd be up for pinch hitting, but I later realized that I won't be able to post starting next sunday (the 9th). Bottom line, I'm still up for pinch hitting, but I'll only be able to send it to you this week OR after the 21st - a few days after the deadline. If you don't mind a slight delay, that's hit.

I'll be honest and admit I haven't started on the actual thing yet, but I have a plan of sorts. I just... need to make myself remember how to draw. Ha. But I aim to get it done on time.

I'll describe my fic status as...hmm..."progressing" has a nice ring to it. Like always, I certainly AIM to meet the deadline, and I'll let you know if I need an extension. But I won't disappear, as the world always needs more ASOIAF fic with fairly happy endings (unlike how the series will probably finish for the characters I care about...anyway).

"Progressing" does sound nice. ;) And I'm all for fics with happy endings. ^^
