Your pet peeves and other things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art:

Are you willing to pinch hit?
(If you say yes, it only means that I may ask you for help if I need to. You can still say no then if you don't have the time or don't like the prompts.)

~~~~~~~~~
If you're okay with receiving both fic and art, please make sure to write prompts that also work for art. Either phrase your prompts in a way so they can be used for both fic and art, or write separate prompts (i.e. 4-6 fic prompts AND 4-6 art prompts). That's far easier for artists than getting fic prompts and only an added "I like art, too."
If your sign-up includes spoilers (prompts like "what happened after character X did this or that in ADWD?"), please warn for them so other participants don't get spoiled accidentally while reading through the sign-ups.
Please try to have a little bit of variety in your prompts. It's perfectly okay to want only fic about a certain character or group of characters, but if all your prompts are smut for the exact same pairing, it may get really hard for your writer. Also, please don't request six incredibly rare pairings. Rare ships are very welcome, but I will have huge trouble finding someone who can write for you if you have six prompts with ships that literally no other participant offered to write. The same goes for extremely detailed prompts and crossover prompts: one or two of those are okay, but not six of them. As a general rule, please remember that someone has to write/draw one of your prompts. Don't make their life unnecessarily difficult.
If you don't want to post your email address here, just fill out the rest of the form and send me a PM with your address. Please sign up with an email address which you check regularly so I can reach you.
Send your finished fic/art to gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com by July 13th. If you need an extension or if you have to drop out, please contact me as soon as possible. Don't just disappear. I reply to EVERY email I get on the exchange account. If I do not reply to your email after a day or two, please assume that I did not get your message and resend it.
Please only send me fics as text files (.txt), or if that's not possible as .doc, .docx or .odt. Please include html tags for italics etc. in your file and check if your formatting works properly. Also, either use a beta reader or at least proofread your fic thoroughly. I have neither the time nor the patience to proofread every single fic before posting it. If you don't know anyone who could beta for you, please contact one of the people who signed up on this beta reader post. Don't be shy. They signed up because they want to help.
Any other questions, comments, suggestions, problems? Just send me a PM or an email to the exchange account. Please read the FAQ first, though, maybe your question has already been answered there.
Have you read (all) the books? Have you seen the show? Do you have any book vs. show preferences?
I've read books 1-5 and seen Game of Thrones through s04e07. I prefer show characterization of Shae but book characterization in general for everyone else, especially of Brienne, Stannis, Melisandre, Arya, Catelyn, Robb, Gendry, and Loras.
What kind of gift can you make?
Fic and/or fanart? Either.
Preferred characters and/or pairings:
Art: Anyone
Writing: Characters: Starks [Order of preference = Arya > Sansa > Jon > Rickon > Bran > Eddard > Catelyn > Benjen > Lyanna > Robb > Brandon if it matters], any of the Night's Watch [but especially Grenn, Pyp, Edd, and Satin], Free Folk, all other Northerners, the Brotherhood without Banners, Podrick Payne, Team Dragonstone, any Dornish, Brienne, any common folk, bastards, etc. Pairings: Arya/Gendry, Arya/Lyanna Mormont, Shireen/Rickon, Maege Mormont/Tormund Giantsbane, Stannis/Davos UST, Stannis/Jon brotp, Stannis/Eddard brotp.
Characters and/or pairings you will NOT draw/write about: In general no sexual violence, torture, dubcon, or Sansa pairings. I prefer not to write about Ironborn, the older generations of Lannisters, Daenerys, or Ramsay (drawing is fine for all of these). I will not write or draw these pairings: Sansa/[Petyr, Sandor, Margaery, Jaime, Gendry, Joffrey], Catelyn/[Petyr, Tywin], or Arya/[Aegon, Tywin, Jaqen].
What kind of genres can you write/what kind of pictures can you draw?
Art: I like stylized, dreamy, moody scenes that look more painty than realistic (realism and me aren't really there yet is what I'm saying). I can do character studies or interactions between a few characters and/or animals and can give a shot at any kind of background or scenic landscape. I may be able to do smut. I'm not confident in my ability to draw large crowds or battles.
Writing: Folk tales, fairy tales, character studies, AUs and fusions, angst, gen, het, slash, sort-of-fluff?, smut, future fics, small moments, missing scenes, etc. It might be more useful to know what I CAN'T write, which is comedy, complete crack, and PWP.
Anything else I should know when I assign prompts to you? I've gotten a lot less picky over the past few years, so feel free to send me your problem entry if you can't find someone else who fits.
What kind of gift do you want to receive?
Fic and/or fanart? I prefer fic by a smidge but art is cool too.
Preferred characters and/or pairings:
Characters: Arya, Sansa, Rickon, Bran, Jon Snow, Eddard, Catelyn, Gendry and other Baratheon bastards, the Night's Watch brothers [especially Grenn, Pyp, Edd, and Satin], Shireen, Stannis, Davos, Melisandre, Brienne, Podrick, the Manderlys, the Mormonts, the Reeds, other minor Northerners, the Sand Snakes + other Martells, Jeyne and Willow Poole, smallfolk in general, the Brotherhood without Banners, the Free Folk, Wenda the White Fawn + the Kingswood Brotherhood.
Pairings: Arya/Gendry, Arya/Lyanna Mormont, Shireen/Rickon, Maege Mormont/Tormund "HUSBAND TO BEARS" Giantsbane. Stannis + Jon and Stannis + Eddard friendships give me life.
Characters and/or pairings you do NOT want to see/read about: Just about anyone is okay on the periphery but I would prefer no focus on: anyone Ironborn, Daenerys, or Ramsay. As to pairings, no Sansa/[Petyr, Sandor, Margaery, Jaime, Gendry, Joffrey], Catelyn/[Petyr, Tywin], or Arya/[Aegon, Tywin, Jaqen].
What genre of fic/art do you generally want? Character studies, AUs (both in and out of Westeros), folklore and fairytale fusions, moderate angst, moderate fluff, romance, adventure, gen/slash/het/femmeslash are all okay.
Give at least four and up to six prompts you would like to see written/drawn:
Writer/Artist, please feel free to combine elements or pick and choose pieces at will. I like a little of almost everything and am really easy to please. :)
Writing:
1. Northern Politics: Whoever thought Arya would make a good diplomatic figure for the Stark in Winterfell [take your pick of the three living options] was... surprisingly correct. Arya visits Northern Lords at her sibling's behest, has some stand-offs, busts some heads, breaks some hearts, builds an entourage, impresses some lords, and/or has adventures of some kind. [Bonus for inclusion of Arya+Lyanna Mormont or Gendry]
2. AU: It is Stannis, not Robert, who is sent to Jon Arryn to be fostered alongside Eddard Stark. This can be limited to their boyhood or as far into the future as you like.
3. What in Westeros is Jeyne Heddle going to do with all these orphans? AKA: An exploration of the effects of the war on any of the common folk we've met in Westeros.
4. Fairytale/folklore/mythology retelling/reimagining featuring any of the favored characters in my list. Stark-centric wolf folk tales, Robin Hood!Brotherhood without Banners, Berserker!Mormonts, etc., etc.
5. AU: Eddard safely leaves King's Landing with Arya, Sansa, and Gendry immediately after Robert's death. As with #2, feel free to be as limited or far-reaching as you'd like.
6. Gendry, Brienne, and Podrick follow up on an interesting rumor about the possible revelation of Sansa Stark in the Vale of Arryn [this not-so-merry band of besties may of course include Jaime and/or Hyle, depending on how you want to address the events of AFFC and ADWD].
Art:
1. Tormund is captured by a "she-bear" while raiding south of the Wall.
2. Rickon and Shaggydog meet Shireen.
3. What to do at the Wall when there's not a war on (AKA the Night's Watch is populated by a bunch of bored teenagers and cranky old codgers so surely hijinks must ensue)
4. Mythological Westeros: illustrate any element of any myth or folk tale we've heard about in the series
5. Davos Seaworth's fantastical journey to the isle of Skagos and what he found there.
6. Oberyn teaches one of his daughters to fight in the manner best suited to her.
Your pet peeves and other things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art:
No rape or dubcon. No [additional] major character death if possible. I prefer third person POV in fic.
Are you willing to pinch hit? Yes!
