A Song of Ice and Fire - Fanfic and Fanart Exchange

That's it for this round of the exchange. You can find the masterlist here. There haven't been a lot of comments in the last week, so please take the time to comment when you catch up on fics you've missed. It should go without saying that you are expected to comment on the gift made specifically for you: if you haven't done that yet, please remember to do so soon. It's very rude not to thank the person who wrote/drew something just for you. I hope that everyone enjoyed participating and liked their gift. If you repost your fic on AO3, you can add it to the got_exchange collection. Thanks to all participants, and especially to vanaofthevalar for pinch-hitting.

This was already the tenth round of got_exchange. I had no idea how big and long-running this exchange would become when I started it almost exactly three years ago, but I'm so happy about it. I always have a lot of fun organising this, and I'm very grateful to all of you for participating, for writing and drawing and commenting and making this whole thing possible. As always, if you have any suggestions or feedback, please tell me.

I'd suggest that we do the next round of the exchange fairly soon, because I know that there are a lot of exchanges, gift swaps, Yuletide etc. at the end of the year, not to mention that real life gets busy for most of us around that time. That's why I'd like to have everything wrapped up before December, so everyone can focus on other things in December and we can just start the exchange round after that in the new year.

So here's the schedule for round 11:
- sign-ups will be open from September 1st to September 12th
- assignments will be sent out on September 14th
- the deadline will be on November 2nd
- posting will start on November 3rd

Btw, since summer is holiday time, if you already know that you won't be able to fill in the sign-up form in early September, feel free to send me an email with your sign-up info using last round's form. This goes only for people who absolutely won't be able to sign up 'normally' because they won't have internet access or whatever - I don't want to get twenty email sign-ups now. ;)

Also, for those of you who are interested, there's a new multi fandom femslash exchange. Sign-ups for that are currently open.

The deadline is today. Unless we've agreed on an extension, you should send in your fic/art by the end of the day. If you need a few more days to finish your work, please let me know. If, for whatever reason, you won't be able to finish your fic/art at all, tell me as well so I can find a pinch-hitter.

Posting starts tomorrow with one fic/art per day. I may switch to two per day once everyone has actually sent in their work. Please do not post your fic or art elsewhere before it has been posted here.

And the usual request to all members of the community, not just the participants: please, please comment. Nobody expects you to read fics you're not interested in, but if you read and enjoy something anyway, it doesn't take that much time and effort to write a short comment to tell the author or artist you liked their work. And it should go without saying that you are expected to leave a proper comment on the fic/art made just for you; not thanking the person who spent so much time writing/drawing something for you is incredibly rude.

I hope everyone enjoyed working on their fic/art and that you will all like your gift.

The deadline for the exchange is in three weeks, on Sunday, July 13th. Please try to finish your fic/art by then. The check-in post will be up in a week, but if you already know that you have to drop out for whatever reason, please tell me as soon as possible so I can look for a pinch-hitter.
