Well, in the sign-ups there's the question "Did you read all the books?" and then (unless I screwed up your assignment mail oO) in the email you should have had "your giftee is XYZ who has only seen the show/has read all the books/has read the books up to ACOK" etc. I took that into consideration, so obviously I wouldn't assign a bunch of Jaime/Brienne prompts to someone who has only seen the show.
I'll add next time that people who have seen the show and read the books should specify the verse they want, if they have a preference, at least when it comes to people like Jorah or Renly who are extremely different in book and show.
