If you're okay with receiving both fic and art, please make sure to write prompts that work for both. Either phrase your prompts in a way so they can be used for both fic and art, or write separate prompts (i.e. 4-6 fic prompts AND 4-6 art prompts). That's far easier for artists than getting fic prompts and only an added "I like art, too."

If your sign-up includes spoilers (prompts like "what happened after character X did this or that in ADWD?"), please warn for them so other participants don't get spoiled accidentally while reading through the sign-ups.

Please try to have a little bit of variety in your prompts. It's perfectly okay to want only fic about a certain character or group of characters, but if all your prompts are smut for the exact same pairing, it may get really hard for your writer. Also, please don't request six incredibly rare pairings. Rare ships are very welcome, but I will have trouble finding someone who can write for you if you have six prompts with ships that literally no other participant offered to write (and similarily, I will have trouble finding a recipient for you if you only offer to write/draw pairings or characters that nobody requested). The same goes for extremely detailed prompts and crossover prompts: one or two of those are okay, but not six of them. As a general rule, please remember that someone has to write/draw one of your prompts. Don't make their life unnecessarily difficult.

Send your finished fic/art to gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com by August 2nd. If you need an extension or if you have to drop out, please contact me as soon as possible. Don't just disappear. I reply to every email I get on the exchange account. If I do not reply to your email after a day or two, please assume that I did not get your message and resend it.

Please only send me fics as text files (.txt), or if that's not possible as .doc, .docx or .odt. Please include html tags for italics etc. in your file and check if your formatting works properly. Either ask someone to beta read your fic for you or at least proofread your fic thoroughly. If you don't know anyone who could beta for you, you can contact one of the people who signed up on this beta reader post.

Favorite ships include Davos/Stannis, Jon/Stannis, Jon/Ygritte, Jon/Val, Jon/Melisandre, Arianne/pretty much anyone, Asha/pretty much anyone, Cat/Ned, Gilly/Sam. I don’t mind Lannistercest either, although I’d prefer they not be the focus. Threesomes and moresomes are totally fine as long as I like the characters involved. (I’m especially drawn to combinations of Stannis/Davos/Mel/Jon at the Wall.)

Characters and/or pairings you do NOT want to see/read about:
post-ACOK Theon/Anyone, Sansa/Anyone, Arya/Anyone, Dany/Jon, Targaryens that aren’t Dany and Viserys. I prefer stuff from established adult characters’ childhoods (Stannis, Cat, Ned, Davos, etc) through to the end of the upcoming War for the Dawn II.

Please no AUs and please no deathfic (angst is okay, but no actual character death). Also please nothing too saccharine sweet. Anything else is fine, from gen to hardcore smut, any gender combos, character studies, etc. I love sibling relationships, and while I don’t mind sibling incest at all, I generally only like it between siblings with immensely fucked up platonic relationships (Cersei/Jaime) and not siblings whose dynamics are otherwise pretty normal/healthy (the Starks). part 3--prompts

--Arya’s outtakes in Braavos: what does she do that we don’t see in canon? What sort of Braavosi shenanigans does she witness and/or partake in? Does she warg any other animals incidentally besides that cat? This is one prompt where I will eagerly welcome deviations from book!canon in the form of Tycho Nestoris as Mark Gatiss plays him on the show--if you want to slip him into this, I would love that. Any piece of art of Arya in Braavos would be fine too, especially if you include the canals.
--Arianne’s various escapades as young adult, especially the mentioned aborted tryst with Drey(?) and Tyene. (I don’t remember how old they were in canon, but aging them up is fine.) Pretty much anything here is fair game. Please no noncon or anything involving bodily fluids, no lingering on/kinking on extreme youth, but if you want to go into some kink/bondage/whatever the Westerosi equivalent is, that’s fine. Or if you like them but want it platonic, almost literally anything with young Arianne and her friends would be great. Any art of young Arianne, Drey, and/or the Sand Snakes would be great--maybe them interacting with Doran?
--Asha and Theon as children: what were they like? What shenanigans did they get up to? Did they even interact that much? I’m especially interested in them being petty and squabbly and antagonistic but with Asha still having a small bit of “ugh gotta look out for this kid” going on. Pretty much anywhere you want to go with them that doesn’t hit my squicks is fine--please no sexual situations if they’re underage. Art: anything young with them--maybe Asha praying a prank on Theon or them both at lessons or something?
--The Others: So we’ve seen them enough to get a sense of who/what they might be--some sort of sentient nonhuman race. But what do they want? What is their goal in invading Westeros? Are they driven south by something beyond their own control? Do they want to purge the continent of humans for some reason? What makes them rise again after thousands of years of dormancy? I really just want whatever speculation you can throw out there about their motives, what Other culture looks like, and so on. Feel free to draw from the bits we’ve explicitly seen in the show, too--taking Craster’s kids, the Stonehenge-esque set-up, etc.

Things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art:
Rape as kink. Mentions are fine, but I like to keep things generally less rapey than the actual canon. I have this weird thing about ships with the Starklings, in that except for Jon I’m not interested in pairing them up with others. I actually like exploring stuff like R+L=J and Jon’s parentage and the precanon events surrounding Lyanna and nature vs. nurture stuff with regard to Jon, but for me, Jon’s actual blood parentage is pretty irrelevant compared to him being raised as Ned’s bastard son, so if you do incorporate R+L=J into anything, please no scenarios where Jon’s Targaryen blood makes him super special. My headcanon/speculation currently is that Dany will either die as a martyr in the War for the Dawn or otherwise relinquish control over Westeros, so nothing with Queen Dany on the Iron Throne please. Also please no secret Targaryens aside from Jon (I especially dislike Tyrion/Cersei/Jaime as secret Targaryens).

I’ve read the five novels and the short stories. I haven’t read the WoW sample chapters or spoilers. I’m up to date with the show. My first love is the bookverse, but for fic I’m fine with either.

The Lannister siblings at any points in their lives. Maester Aemon would be great. Littlefinger up to whatever, but I'm a fan of Littlefinger and Varys (which is the only thing I'd ever want influence from the show on). Jon/Sansa, and Jon and Sam. I LOVE DUNK AND EGG so if you want to play with characters involved with their era and their stories I will adore you.

What genre of fic/art do you generally want? Gen or character-heavy shipfic! Plotty fic if you're so inclined, like canon divergence AUs. I love darkfic and bad people -- obviously, in this canon. Speculative and future fic are more than welcome.

1) Elia and Rhaegar, a politic marriage, a friendship, and the illness that comes between them.
2) Anything Blackfyre Rebellion. (That should be both specific and give you enough room, right?)
3) Cersei's brothers find out about her first murder right after they find out about the prophecy.
4) Arthur Dayne swears his sister's prayers over his sword are the reason she always finds her mark.
5) After Sansa marries Harry Hardyng, Jon finds out, and finds her.
6) Two sides of the Targaryen coin in conflict and harmony.

Things you DO NOT WANT in your story/art: Don't gloss over the characters being morally sketchy, please; I love everyone for their messed up natures. Any sexual violence... please don't make it the centerpiece or describe it vividly or labor on it in general. I'd ask that if it's not canonical don't include it at all. Please don't include BDSM. The last thing I'm going to ask is if you're including Cersei, I'd really ask that you keep her book characterization in mind rather than the show's, which I think softens a lot of her basically villainous edges; remember that at a young age she murdered a friend and has basically proved unrepentant throughout the books. This is a sticking point with me; it will be impressive if you manage to make her sympathetic to me while keeping this in mind, and you can consider that a challenge. Thanks.

Or as close as you can get. This would work for anyone really!! I especially would like to see Stannis, Ned, Jon, Robb, Arya, Margaery or Loras, Oberyn etc. Just give me all the book art lol :3
2) Re design some sigils. I like most of the HBO sigils bit some are really plain, so if logo design or something like that, is somethimg youre into, then go for it!!
3)Sansa being happy somewhere. Dont care about the context, Maybe shes got lemon cakes, maybe a direwolf puppy, who knows, just her being happy in general. Bonus points for Jon or Arya being there. Or if you have a ship with her, thats not on my do not want list, then go for it! Just all the happiness.
4) Arya and Nymeria, just chillin or doing something badass,either way is awesome. Bonus points if Nymeria looks super huge and intimidating.
5) Jon and Arya reunion, or Jon and Sansa reunion, bonus points if Ghost is there.
6) Asha, maybe she has her axes with her, maybe she is just displaying some fucked up Greyjoy charm, either way :)

I think I’m good at modern a.u and mundane details. My style is pretty angular and I love fashion. But, I will try anything asked because I’m looking for challenges. I like slash/femslash/het, all the slash. I’m totes okay with threesomes and polyamorous. I can do smut if it’s consensual and not too explicit (kinky is ok).
The only things I can’t draw will be gore and extreme violence. (I’m alright with bleak and creepy atmosphere.)

Everything is fine to me except very violent and gory fics, also I’m not a fan of death fics and fantastic a.u like when the characters are ghosts, vampires or werewolves. I don’t like crossover either.
Otherwise, I’m totally up to slash/femslash/het, angst, fluff, romance, smut, character studies, AUs (I love modern a.u), future fics. I’m often attracted to sad things but with a not too sad ending. Like I totally love bittersweet fics where everything is not good like in a fairytale, but it doesn’t have to be as sad as a tragedy piece. I like when things are sad but gets better or when you can see the beauty in something sad. I don’t want my fav characters to be perfect. They have flaws? Perfect, I’ll love them even more.

1. Theon as a classical painting/character, if it’s a fanart, you can do a pic in the style of any classical painter you want and like. If it’s a fic, I’d love to see Theon as a famous classical character or to read something in the style of a classical writer. (Although I don’t like poetry in fandom generally because I’m very picky.) - If you don’t want to write/draw about Theon, you can either pick Robb Stark, Jon Snow or Asha Greyjoy.
2. Either modern A.U. or set after the red wedding: Robb is dead, Theon and Jon meet after a long time. They end up talking together and something they never thought possible happens: they bond over their love for Robb… because they talk about Robb, what they love about him, his flaws, etc. I’d love it, if this prompt is chosen, to maybe address Theon’s past abuse by Ramsay and to address Jon’s loneliness. In short, to address each character’s scars.
3. Double date, Throbb and either SamJon, SamYgritte or AshaQarl, I’d love it to be funny (but not too crack-ish) and cute.
4. Sansa realizes she is queer (and totally hot for Margaery ;D) and goes to Theon for advice, because to her, he looks like the queerest person in Winterfell.
5. Asha does the shovel talk to Robb.
6. I'd love a smutty fic/art with the two lovers talking and laughing, having a good time to sum up. It can be Throbb, AshaQarl, JonYgritte or JonSam

I don’t like crack fic. Also, DEATH FIC, extreme violence or gore. I’m alright with past abusive relationship, but please no torture. If you write about Ygritte, please I don’t want any “Jon Snow, you know nothing”. In general I don’t really like over using catchphrases. Also, I’m not a terrible fan of incest so I’d prefer to avoid any JonRobb references if it’s anything else than friendship and/or sibling relationship.

I'd like a fic in which Ned does use his full power and things come out (somewhat) better for his family because of it.
2. Post-canon: Queen Daenerys decides to host another tourney at Harrenhal, and at least one representative from each of the great houses is required to be in attendance. Tensions are higher than they have been in decades. Who told her this was a good idea, again? (Take this wherever you want to - center it around a ship, a character, or a house (as long as they're on my list) or make it more general - it's up to you.)
3. Canon divergence: Benjen Stark stumbles back to the Wall after the battle and is elected Lord Commander. (Bonus points for Benjen and Jon bonding and talking about what's happened to their family and what Jon did re: the wildlings)
4. Post-canon: Arya comes to the Wall at the head of Nymeria's enormous wolf pack, which, as far as anyone can tell, has basically become her personal army. (Big bonus for Jon being there to greet her)
5. Sam promised to bring Jeor's final words and wishes to Jorah. I'd like to see this play out.
6. Arya Stark, Elia Sand, and Lyanna Mormont. Three fierce young women of about the same age. I'd love to see them as friends/a team. You can set it in an AU where everything didn't go to shit, or in some future where they've met and hit it off, either way is fine - just no modern AU please.

Building on both Sansa and Arya's experiences, their relationship, I don't know, I don't have any particular ideas for this I just care a lot about Sansa, Arya and their wolves. Something vaguely hopeful maybe, or just ambiguous, as long as it isn't 100% angst everything will be bad forever.
