got_exchangeThe poll has been up for almost a week and there haven't been any new votes since Tuesday, so I think it's safe to close it now. Unfortunately there wasn't an unambiguous result like last time. But we do have 9 votes for "right way" and 10 for "April/May", and I think it's fair to assume that everyone who voted for "right away" would also be okay with starting the next exchange in April rather than mid-March, and that would give us 53% (19 out of the 36 votes) who would be okay with April/May.
I know that's unfortunate for the other half who voted for May/June or June/July, but I think it makes more sense to do this at the earliest possible date and just do another exchange during the summer months, rather than sit around and do nothing until June. If you don't have the time to participate in April/May - don't worry, there will definitely be a summer exchange that might accommodate you more, probably starting in July rather than in June. :)
Considering the result for the duration of the exchange, I think 7 weeks, like we had this time, is a fair compromise.
So unless there are any huge disadvantages I've overlooked, this is the schedule for exchange #3:
The sign-up post will be posted on THURSDAY, MARCH 29TH
Sign-ups will close on FRIDAY, APRIL 7TH
Assignments will be sent out on SATURDAY, APRIL 8TH
The deadline is SUNDAY, MAY 27TH
Posting will begin on MONDAY, MAY 28TH
I hope this schedule works for most of you. I apologise to everyone who won't be able to participate, but I'm afraid it's impossible to find a schedule everybody is happy about. If you can't participate this time, I hope to see you around again for the summer exchange.
If you want to participate, but there are smaller problems, just talk to me. Someone told me they wouldn't have internet access during sign-ups in April, but it's perfectly fine to send me your sign-up via email earlier (as an exception, obviously, I prefer to have all the sign-ups in one post). Or if you want to participate, but you have a ton of exams at the end of May, I'm sure a small extension in early June would be possible, as long as it's not a whole month. When in doubt, just ask me and we'll try to figure something out. :)
Unrelated: the comment fic meme is still running. We're already well over 40 fills. You can still post new prompts, and there are also many unfilled prompts just waiting to be written. Let's keep this going for a little longer. :)
