Dear writers, I strongly suggest that you have someone beta read your fic, unless you have absolute confidence in your ability to catch all your typos and mistakes yourself. Don't be shy. The people on this list sign up because they want to help, so you can go ahead and contact them. :)

Are there any fics (genres, characters, pairings) you refuse to beta read? I won't read anything with rape or dubious sexual consent.
Anything else? - I have a BA in English and fairly extensive experience tutoring writing for both college students and ESL students, so I'm more than willing to tackle anything you can throw at me and can be as thorough or perfunctory as you like.
-I'm American, so if you're using British spelling please let me know so I can make sure to adjust my brain ahead of time.
-I usually use the Track Changes and Comment features in Word when I beta. If that doesn't work for you, let me know ahead of time and we'll work something else out.
-Finally, I'll be in my first semester of graduate school when the deadline hits, so, depending on my work load (and the length of your story of course), I might need three or four days to get your story back to you. Just something to be aware of when writing right up to the deadline! =)

Are there any fics (genres, characters, pairings) you refuse to beta read? No. I have no problem editing anything, even pairings or characters I don't personally like, so don't go by my preferences. I'm comfortable with graphic violence, sex, non-con, horror, whatever.
Anything else? I'm a college-level instructor and doctoral student in communication studies, and I have some professional editing experience as well. I generally do "track changes" and line-by-line editing in Word, but am also comfortable doing paragraph-style feedback if you'd prefer more general commentary on style/characterization.

My work schedule can be very busy at awkward times, so depending on when you ask, I may have to say no - but please do ask!

Are there any fics (genres, characters, pairings) you refuse to beta read? Nope, I'll do anything and everything! I'm fine doing pairings that I don't particularly like. For characterizations, I'm better with Starks, Lannisters, and Baratheons than I am with Greyjoys, random Essos people, wildlings, and Martells.
Anything else? I'm American, but I can switch it up to British English if required, and I can do both show and book characterizations.

Anything else? I'm American but if the writer prefers British style/spelling/grammar, I can totally work with that as well. I've read up to CoK and have seen the show, but I know crapload of spoilers and even though I plan to continue reading I don't mind basically having the entire series spoiled. I know it's weird, but sometimes it's more fun for me that way, when I know what to expect and get to see how the author pulls it off. Also - I'm very gentle with my feedback. I try to be very nice and provide an environment of positive crit. So. Yeah. <3 I shan't bite.

Are there any fics (genres, characters, pairings) you refuse to beta read? I do not have the best handle on the characters in Essos or TV show canon, so I'm not your best choice to beta those for characterization. I will also not read fics with Frey genocide (it's my only fandom squick).
