Round four of the exchange is over. [Poll #1872147]

I should add to that that I won't be home in early November, so the sign-up post either goes up in mid-October so I can do the assignments before I leave, or in mid-November when I'm back. Just in case that makes a difference to anyone.

Btw, the comment fic meme is up and running. More prompts and fills are very welcome. Don't be shy, go and prompt and write. ;)

No problems here, loved the prompts, loved the gift. And loved the nice mod who had patience for my delays. Thank you. I'll try to be better organised the next round.

Don't worry, I understand completely that most people have neither the time nor the inclincation to read everything. I'm only irritated by people who DO read things and then don't leave comments.

I'm glad you enjoyed participating. IIRC your prompts were really hard to assign, so I'm happy it all worked out in the end.

If I remember correctly you had several really unusual ships in your prompts and when I did the assignments I was all "but nobody said they could write those ships :///", so it was a bit hard. Thank you. :)

Well, I put in one friendship...but I'll try to make another gen this time. It's just that I'm not that interested in any usual pairings...

I see the timing discussion below and I'm all for early ASAP exactly because of Yuletide - LBR, most people will be writing that in December, to say nothing of pinch hits and Madness - I'd rather start this sooner so I can focus on YT later. But pool will tell, I guess.

Due to Yuletide, I probably won't take part in an exchange if it happens before Christmas, just because I have such limited time to write and Yuletide is kind of a fandom juggernaut. But I am sure if the voting results in a festive posting schedule I'll still read and comment here and there :)

I actually considered mentioning that in the post, how terrible the majority of participants are with deadlines. But then I thought that nobody was going to remember that until next time anyway. ;)

Understandable, yes. I thought yuletide and all those other christmas exchanges might be a problem, but I figured it would be still better to have a smaller exchange than none at all.

Another run will be smaller, due to yuletide. I'll do both if we do another round right away on this one. Some of us are masochists for fic exchanges. Got to say, the quality of fic in this exchange was amazing. Rarely have I been involved with a fic exchange with so many quality stories in a fairly small fandom.

...Now to go leave feedback on them all!

I really don't get it. I mean, I don't expect anyone to read fics they're not interested in, but if people read stuff anyway, it's really not that hard to leave a couple of lines and say something nice about the characterisation or the style or whatever.

Thank you for what was, as always, a fabulously run exchange! I'm always incredibly impressed at how organized it is and how much thought you give to the order of stories being posted.

I, of course, voted "OMG RIGHT NAAAAAO." I don't really do any of the big Yuletide exchanges, and my busiest time at work is actually September-October, so I'm ready for another round! ;-)

Tbh, I would really prefer right now to November/December, because if we start in mid-November the deadline will be shortly after Christmas and I just DREAD all the last minute "omfg christmas was so busy" drop-outs and all the people who don't reply to my e-mails because they're on holidays god-knows-where. And I can imagine more pleasant ways to spend my Christmas holidays. ;)

Yep. So I'd rather have a deadline a week before Christmas than a week or two after. Chances are people will at least be home and read their e-mails. ;) But we'll see how the poll goes.

So far there haven't been any big breaks between the rounds, so if we do this one right away there will most likely be another some time in spring, yes. .)

Once again, another great exchange. I commend your organization skills and as always, am impressed with the quality of the fics and the variety of characters/pairings that we see here. I'm still working on catching up so I'll likely be reading/commenting more later on this weekend.

Thank you so much for organizing this! It was my first time participating in any kind of fandom exchange, and it was such great fun writing my fic and getting to read my amazing gift (thank you again enochia)! I've read a few of the fills and commented on them, but I'm going to go through the rest of them this weekend and leave some more love. The prompts were all so great, I'm really excited to read and look at everyone's work! :)

November/December would work best for me but I would be able to participate again if we had sign-ups next week!

I really don't have a preference for when the next round of this exchange starts, as long as there is a next round! Either right away or later is fine, because it's always a lot of fun ;). Though having deadlines around the end of December would make it hard because of holidays/school final exams/stress/etc.

I really like how you vary the character/pairings in the fics that are posted. I think it's refreshing and gives people a chance to read the type of stories that they normally wouldn't, or at least that's what I do. Thanks for being just a great mod and taking the time to organize this exchange!

You pulled this round off as wonderfully as always, really THANK YOU!! <333 and really, I cannot thank you enough for how patient you were with me once again--suffice to say that my faith in my ability to whip out at least 1000 words in a couple of days has more or less diminished, so at least I now know to GET ON IT ASAP for next time lol :$

Yeah, I know that mid-December is not exactly ideal, but a deadline in late December makes me as the mod kind of nervous because of all the "it's Christmas and my family is taking up all my time and btw I'm on holidays and not checking my e-mails for two weeks" drop-outs. Looks like both solutions somehow suck. ;)

I've not been able to read as much as I would like but I've really enjoyed everything I've looked at so far - planning to binge on the rest one evening! There's so much variety, but happily Stannis fics seemed abundant, or maybe I'm just noticing them more. I know there are a few I need to catch up on, looking forward to it.

Thanks so much for doing this, and for your patience with me when I was falling to bits! I loved my fic and my prompt is continuing to inspire me (hello, new Stannis/Jon obsession).

I voted for January for a new sign-up, partly because December is usually crazy for everyone - and I'm moving that month so signing up to write anything over the period I'm flat-hunting, packing AND moving would just not even be funny.

There are quite a few Stannis fics every time, yes. It always makes me happy, especially since he's not exactly one of the most popular characters in this fandom.

That really sounds like too much stuff to do at the same time. Right now it looks like a pre-Christmas exchange will happen one way or another, but if you don't have the time to participate in that one, I'm sure there will be another exchange some time in spring. :)
