If you're okay with receiving both fic and art, please make sure to write prompts that also work for art. Either phrase your prompts in a way that they can be used for both fic and art, or write separate prompts (i.e. 4-6 fic prompts AND 4-6 art prompts). That's far easier for artists than when they get fic prompts and only an added "I like art, too."

If your sign-up form includes spoilers (prompts like "what happened after character X did this or that in ADWD?"), please warn for them so other participants don't get spoiled accidentally while reading through the sign-ups.

Please try to have a little bit of variety in your prompts. It's perfectly okay to want only fic about a certain character or group of characters, but if all your prompts are smut for the exact same pairing, it may get really hard for your writer. Try not to constrict your gifter too much, please. Also, please don't request five incredibly rare pairings or crazy AUs. Rare ships are very welcome, but I will have huge trouble finding someone who can write for you if you have five prompts with crackships you just made up on the spot. ;) As a general rule, please remember that someone has to write one of your prompts. Don't make their life unnecessarily difficult.

You can ask for other things than fanart or fanfic (like graphics, icons, videos, whatever), but I can't promise that someone will participate who can make them, so you should be okay with drawn art or fic. Similarily, if you can make graphics etc., you can tell me as well, but you should be able to produce either drawn art or fic because I can't be sure that someone will specifically ask for graphics etc.

I reply to EVERY email I get on the exchange account. If I do not reply to your email after a day or two, please assume that I did not get your message and resend it. Check your emails regularly so I can reach you.

Send your finished fic/art to gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com by July 7th. If you need an extension or if you have to drop out, please contact me as soon as possible. Don't just disappear.

Please only send me fics as text files (.txt), or if that's not possible as .doc, .docx or .odt. Include html tags for italics etc. in your file and check if your formatting works properly. Also, please use a beta reader, or at least proofread your fic thoroughly. I have neither the time nor the patience to proofread every single fic before posting it. If you don't know anyone who could beta for you, please contact one of the people who signed up on this beta reader post. Don't be shy. They signed up because they want to help. :)

I haven't finished ADWD yet but I know a lot of spoilers anyway (so I don't mind reading ADWD-focused material, but I won't writing it well). Seen the show. Strongly prefer the books excepting Shae.

What kind of gift can you make? Fic and/or fanart?
Either (including any kind of art, or mixes or even videos).

Preferred characters and/or pairings:
Tullys, Martells besides Oberyn, any generation of Starks besides Robb-Jon-Rickon, Lannisters with at least Lancel-level importance, bannermen of said houses, Brienne, Brotherhood Without Banners, rebellion-related characters, maesters & acolytes, Varys. I'm best with ships about the characters just listed, barring below.

What kind of genres can you write/what kind of pictures can you draw?
To write: Gen besides super plotty futurefic. Shipfic is fine if it's not unrealistically happy fluffy or super porny. I'm not as good with m/m but I can try. I'm better with drama/character exploration/moderate angst within and outside the realm of shipfic. Backstory, missing canon and AU's (modern/fairy tale/inverse/etc) are wonderful. Can't do crossovers, crack, smut for smut's sake, darkfic (creepy vibes are okay but not torture, non-con, sexual violence, etc), fluff, under-age sex, scat, mpreg, hurt/comfort. Would like to lay off mega-tragedy, super plotty futurefic, futurefic and AUs that resolve things too easily or act as wish-fulfillment fantasy.
To draw: I'll draw anything except any sex involving children and super super explicit porny sex complete with this-goes-there anatomical correctness. I'd prefer not to draw huge crowds or direwolves but I can try.

Anything else I should know when I assign prompts to you?
Rebellion era fic is great if it isn't focused on starcrossed romance. I tend to not like to play tropes straight that are intentionally subverted in canon. I will write either men or women but I am pretty deconstructive about masculinity ideals and kinda can't help it.

What genre of fic/art do you generally want? (Gen, slash, het, angst, fluff, romance, smut, AUs etc.)
My favorite is character analysis or drama especially if it uses sociological/historical details (gen or shippy). I really like canon-compliant missing canon and backstory. I prefer AU's that can act as commentary on canon. Futurefic is okay if there's no too-convenient resolutions or wish-fulfilling fantasy scenarios (same for AUs). Not looking for crack, fluff, overwrought angst, romance that doesn't deconstruct the tropes Martin does, smut for smut's sake, crossovers, married-plus-kids-plus-happy-ever-after fic, noncon, scat, mpreg, hurt/comfort, darkfic.

Give at least four and up to six prompts you would like to see written:
#1) Architects of the rebellion: There's a lot more to why Robert's war happened than Harrenhal. Rhaegar, Aerys, Jon Arryn, Rickard Stark and his maester, Hoster Tully, Tywin Lannister, maybe Varys, maybe someone else - I'd just like a slice (or four) of the story beyond "Helen of Troy". The agendas, the consequences, etc.
#2) Conspiracies: What is the Citadel up to? Focus on as many as few maesters/acolytes as you'd like, just relate it to their relationship with magic. Cameos by Varys, Mel, Bloodraven, etc, are welcome if they're involved in your theories about what's going on.
#3) Schemers: backstory for the rise of Petyr Baelish and/or Varys would be so awesome, especially if you can work in their agendas and actions that precipitated Jon Arryn's death and the war of the five kings.
#4) First impressions: a lot of the relationships in ASOAIF blossom between strangers. I'd love to know what they initially thought of each other and how that affected their initial interactions. I'm not necessarily looking for Rom-com style bickering and bantering, but neither do I want things being too comfortable too soon or oddly worshipful admiration or such. It can be part of a larger context or plot, as long as how the characters behave (and maybe some of the plot points, if you can) are affected by curiosity/the lack of familiarity.
#5) A fairy-tale or mythic AU of a character's storyline or a ship (stealing this from someone else!).
#6) If nothing else works for you just use anything I listed as a preference and do what you can!

#1) A wedding! I'd love to see Cat & Lysa's double wedding or Cersei's, but others are cool too. What Norvosi customs were at Doran and Mellario's wedding? What if Cersei really did marry Theon? How unhappy was Lynesse? Did Jon Connington attend Rhaegar's wedding? Run with it, I just want to see cool clothes and stately pageantry and septs or whatever.
#2) "Fix-it" art. There are a number of popular complaints about instances where the show gets a character or a scene totally wrong. Depict what they got wrong, make it right! (Example: Catelyn's plea for peace in the King in the North scene, which was totally cut from the show.)
#3) Arianne and Doran working together instead of against each other.
#4) Jaime and Brienne's meeting in ADWD.
#5) Sansa in the Eryie any of the Lords Declarant present.
#6) If nothing else works for you just use anything I listed as a preference and do what you can!

Out-of-characterness, author-taking-revenge-against-character fic or bashing. I don't really care who sits the Iron Throne in the end tbh, I'm not really in the mood for How The Stark Kids Win Everything Back, and if you choose Ned/Cat please do something besides revelations about Jon's parentage or only Cat's first reaction to Jon, I've just seen it a lot. No under-age sex.

Don't worry about it. You do seem to like a lot of characters and many fairly popular ships (if you're also willing to write the ships you like to read about), so I should have no problem finding something for you. I've had way pickier people in this exchange and I usually manage to find something for them. :))

Oh, and btw I absolutely love most of your prompts. Especially the very first one, because there must have been so much more to that Rebellion than Rhaegar and Robert having a temper.

Yeah I could write the ships I would like to read about, also just any ships involving one or two of the characters I said I'd like to write about (unless they're on the No list, heheh).

I looove the whole industry of rebellion-era fics, with the major caveat that I need more than doomed romance, which is like most of the market XD I usually try to ask for at least one on an exchange, like at another one right now I asked for Stannis during the siege. Lots of interesting stories to tell.

Okay, then there should really be no problem at all. :)

I'm guilty of doing the whole doomed romance thing when it comes to Robert/Lyanna because I'm way more invested in them than in Rhaegar, but other than that I don't really care about teenagers in wuv, and I will never not be sad that there isn't more fic about Jon Arryn in particular because that guy was majorly important for a lot of things. But I get it, writing political stuff is a lot harder than just character interaction, I know that I'm personally terrible at really plotty things.
There is some excellent fic about Stannis during the siege out there, btw. I wish there was more about the conquest of Dragonstone and the Greyjoy rebellion.

I'd love to read the Stannis fic during the siege if you have any links? It is a lot harder to write when you have to fill in so many details, at least it's intimidating, but I think if you reread and reread you see a lot more than you used to, at least I do. Jon Aryrn is a great example, he had a finger in like all the pies. I just like the past in ASOIAF in how it can overturn your ideas about the present, but that requires looking past the romance of the past. That's kind of something I'm hoping happens in canon on a thematic level before the end.

I definitely agree that there are always new things to find out about the past and the past characters, even in canon, and it really makes me sad how little fandom seems to care about the history of Westeros, with the exception of a few popular characters. I also find the time of the conquest really fascinating.

Soo, Stannis fics during the siege, let me see. I never bookmark anything, so I I'm sure there are more out there. There have been a couple of siege fics in past rounds of this exchange:
