The deadline for the exchange is in three weeks, on Sunday, July 7th. Please try to finish your fic/art by then and not a week later. The check-in post will be up in a week, but if you already know that you have to drop out for whatever reason, please tell me as soon as possible so I can look for a pinch-hitter.

As always, we have a beta reader post if you need someone to beta for you. You can also still sign up to beta read if you want to. If you have any other problems or questions, please contact me.

Sign-ups for this round close tomorrow, on Friday. If you want to participate and haven't signed up yet, now's the time. If you have any trouble commenting on the sign-up post because of LJ's maintenance work (and only then), you can send me your sign-up per email (gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com), but you are required to have a Livejournal account if you want to participate.

Since someone asks about this every time: The sign-ups are open until I put a big red "sign-ups are closed" on the post. That usually happens on Saturday around noon (CET), when I start working on the assignments. Until then, you can still sign up, even if it's technically already Saturday wherever you live.

Sign up here.

We also have a beta reader post. You can sign up here if you're willing to beta read for other writers.

The deadline is in two weeks, on Wednesday, April 3rd. Please reply to this post to let me know how your fic/art is going and whether you will be done in time or not. If you have to drop out, please tell me as soon as possible so I can find a pinch hitter. Don't wait until the deadline to drop out, and don't just disappear without a word. If you think you will need a small extension, please tell me, but I'd appreciate if everyone could try to meet the deadline. If you don't reply to this post in the next few days, you'll get a pesky e-mail from me.

For the fic writers among you: please include html coding for italics etc. in your file. I would prefer to get your fic as a text file, but if for some reason that's a problem, doc, docx or odt are also fine. Just please make sure that your formatting works properly. (If you use Word, make sure that you actually have a blank line between two paragraphs.) Your fic should also be beta-read or at least spell-checked very thoroughly. We have a list of beta-readers here, if you don't know anyone who can beta for you.

For both fic and art, please include a header:
Title:
Author/Artist:
For:
Pairings/Characters:
Rating:
Words:
Warnings: (don't forget to warn for spoilers)
Prompt:
(Summary, if the prompt was rather vague)

Thank you. If you have any problems or questions, just talk to me. That's what I'm here for. ;)

Sign-ups for the exchange close on Sunday. So if you want to participate, please sign up by the end of the weekend. Btw, the sign-ups are always open until I put a big red "sign-ups are closed" on the post (just saying this because I sometimes get messages on the last day asking me if the sign-ups are still open).

Sign up here.

Don't forget that we also have a beta reader post. If you're willing to beta for writers in the exchange, please sign up here.

Deadline

The deadline is today. Unless we've agreed on an extension, you should send me your fic/art by the end of the day. If there are any problems and you need a few more days, please let me know.

Posting starts tomorrow. Since we have fewer participants than last time, I will only post one fic every day for the next week. If I have received everyone's fic/art by then and there are no unexpected last-minute disappearances, I will probably change that to two posts a day after Christmas so you don't have to wait for your gift quite so long. I hope that's okay for everybody.

And the usual request to all members of the community, not just the participants: please, please comment. After every exchange round I hear from some people how disappointed they are by the lack of comments in this community, and I think it's really a pity that many people can't be bothered to leave a short comment on a fic they like. Nobody expects you to read fics you're not interested in, but if you read something anyway, it doesn't take that much time and effort to write one or two sentences to tell the author you liked their work. Of course you don't 'owe' anyone comments, it's just a nice thing to do. And it should go without saying that you are expected to leave a proper comment on the fic/art made just for you; anything else is just rude to the person who spent so much time writing/drawing something for you.

/modly nagging. I hope everyone enjoyed participating so far and will like their gift.

The deadline is in two weeks. I hope everyone is making good progress with their fic/art. Please reply to this post to let me know if you're still around and whether you'll be done in time or not. Don't forget that the deadline for the exchange is in three weeks, on Sunday, December 16th. As I said before, I would really appreciate it if everyone could try and finish their fic/art in time and not a week later. I will post the proper check-in post in a week, but if anyone already knows that you will have to drop out, please let me know as soon as possible. It's easier to find a pinch-hitter now than a week before Christmas.
As always, we have a beta reader post in case you need someone to beta for you. You can also still sign up to beta read if you want to. If you have any other problems or questions, don't hesitate to ask.

The sign-ups for this round close on Friday. If you want to participate and haven't signed up yet, you should do so in the next two days.

Sign up here.

Thanks to everyone who has already signed up. You will receive an e-mail with your assignment on Sunday.

Don't forget that there's also a sign-up post for beta readers.

The deadline is today. Unless we've agreed on an extension (or you've already sent in your fic/art, obviously), you should send me your fic/art by the end of the day. If there are any problems and you need a few more days, please let me know. Don't disappear at the last minute just because you were too shy to ask for an extension.

Posting starts tomorrow. Because of the large number of participants, I will be posting two fics (or drawings) per day, not just one like in the previous rounds. I hope nobody minds that change. I mostly didn't want anyone to have to wait over six weeks to see their gift.

And the usual request to all members of the community, not just the participants: please comment. That should go without saying, but unfortunately it doesn't. Of course nobody expects you to read fics you're not interested in, but if you read something anyway and you like it, please take a minute or two to tell the author (or artist) that you appreciate their work. It doesn't need to be long; short feedback is better than no feedback. If you can take ten minutes to read a fic, you can take another minute to write a comment. :) Thanks.

That was my modly nagging of the day. I hope that everyone enjoyed participating so far, and that everyone will like their gift. :)

Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that the deadline for the exchange is in three weeks, on Sunday, September 16th. There will be a proper check-in post in a week or so, but if you already know that you have to drop out, please let me know as soon as possible. The earlier I know, the quicker I can find a a pinch hitter.
And because there are always people who miss it: if you need a beta reader, you can contact anyone from this list. You can also still sign up to beta read if you want to. If you have any other problems or questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Two weeks left until the deadline, and I hope you're all having fun with your prompts. ;) Please reply to this post to let me know how things are going with your fic/art. If you won't be done in time and need an extension, please tell me asap. If you have to drop out, please tell me NOW so I can find a pinch hitter. Don't string me along, don't wait until after the deadline to drop out, don't just disappear without a word. At least give someone else enough time to write/draw something for your giftee instead. If you don't reply to this post in the next few days, you'll get a pesky email from me. If you've already sent in your fic or already talked to me about an extension/dropping out, you obviously don't have to check in again.

When you send in your fic: please include html coding for italics etc. I would prefer to get your fic as a text file, but if for some reason that's a problem, doc, docx or odt are also fine. The deadline for the exchange is in exactly three weeks, Sunday, May 27th. If you already know that you won't be able to finish on time and need an extension, or that you won't finish your assignment at all and will drop out, please let me know as soon as possible. There will be an official check-in post in a week or so, this is just a reminder.

The sign-ups for the exchange close on Friday. If you want to participate and you haven't signed up yet, you shouldn't wait much longer.

Sign up here.

I also wanted to remind you that we have a sign-up post for beta readers. Unfortunately not many people have offered to beta so far. So if you're willing and able to beta read for other writers, please comment on this post. :)

My thanks to everybody who has already signed up. You will get an email with your assignment on Saturday/Sunday (depending on your timezone).

Deadline

The deadline is today. Everyone who hasn't requested an extension (and who hasn't already sent in their work yet, obviously) should send it to me by the end of the day. If you can't make it and need a few more days, please let me know so I don't start wondering whether you disappeared at the last minute.

Posting starts tomorrow. I will be posting one fic or drawing per day.

One last request to everybody, not just to the participants, but to all members of the community: please, please comment! I shouldn't have to say this, but there were so few comments in the first round of the exchange. Don't read things you don't want to read, but if you read something anyway, if you read a fic about your favourite characters or pairings and you like it, don't just close the tab afterwards, but leave a line or two to tell the author/artist that you appreciate their work. It doesn't cost you much time or effort. Nobody expects you to write half a page of constructive criticism, but most authors/artists prefer "nice work, I like how you write character X" to no feedback at all. So please, if you read fics and look at the art anyway, just take that one extra minute to leave a little comment.

/modly admonishment. Have fun. :)
[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com
I know this is a few days earlier than planned, but I won't be home in the next few days and I wanted to get this going before I leave. The deadline is in less than two weeks: Sunday, January 29th. Please reply to this post to tell me how things are going with your fic/art: will you be finished in time? Are you still participating, but won't finish in time and need an extension? Do you have to drop out?

Especially if you have to drop out, please tell me. I know it's a bit embarrassing, but it's okay, it happens. But it's a lot better for everyone involved if you tell me as soon as possible so I can look for a pinch hitter. Don't just disappear, or, worse, string me along until the deadline and then disappear. If you can't finish the fic/art for your giftee, at least give someone else enough time to do it.
If all is well and you're diligently working on your assignment, please just drop me a quick line here so I know you're still around and haven't forgotten about the exchange. ;) The entire point of this post is really just to reassure me.

If you don't reply to this post in the next couple of days, you'll get an e-mail from me. If you don't reply to that either, I'll assume that you have dropped out without a word (shame on you) and will start looking for a pinch hitter.

When you send in your fic/art, please include a header:
Title:
Author/Artist:
For:
Pairings/Characters:
Rating:
Words:
Warnings (if necessary; please also warn for spoilers)
Prompt:
(Summary, if the prompt was rather vague)

I'd really appreciate it if the writers among you could also include html tags for italics etc. I didn't ask for it last time and ended up regretting it a little, so please do me a favour, include the html and check if the formatting works properly before you send it to me. Thank you. :)
[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com
This is a reminder that you have three weeks left to finish your fic/art for this round of the exchange. The deadline is January 29th. If you already know that you won't be able to finish your fic/art at all, or if you think that you might need an extension, please contact me as soon as possible.

The list of beta readers is here. Please make sure your fic is at least spell-checked properly. I'd also appreciate it if you included html tags for italics etc., and please don't forget to include a header for your fic/art.
[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com
The sign-ups for the second round of the exchange close tomorrow, Friday 9th. If you want to participate and you still haven't signed up, you really shouldn't wait much longer.

Sign up here.

Considering how unreliable livejournal has been this entire week ... if LJ is acting up again today or tomorrow, and you can't comment on the sign-up post for some reason, you can also send me your sign-up per email, gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com. Just for emergencies.

Don't be shy. :) If you have any questions you want answered before you sign up, don't hesitate to ask.
[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com
Last reminder: the deadline is today. If you're not going to make it today and need a few more days, keep me updated please.  Posting starts on Monday, with one fic or drawing/graphic per day, so there should be something nice posted every day for a month. Posting will not be anonymous because I hate anonymous posting, it's that simple. ;) Also, comments are every writer's and artist's delight, so be sure to tell people if you liked their fic/art - especially if the gift was for you.
If you feel like filling more prompts because they inspired you, you can of course send me additional fic/art whenever you like and I'll post them at the end of the exchange. Additional fics don't have to meet any minimum word count either.

Thanks to everyone for participating. :)
